I came to Kent State in the fall of 2007, after graduating from Jackson High School. In the summer before my freshmen year at Kent, I went to one of my buddy’s graduation party and I met two-sigma nu’s, Joe Cosentino and Jacob Myers. After, with talking to them for a while, they told me they were in a fraternity and told me to come check it out, but to also go around and check out the other fraternities as well. Now in high school I never thought I would have joined a fraternity, but after listening to the stories, the opportunities and hearing how grades were really important to them, I decided to check them out.

Soon as I stepped foot on campus and got situated I went out and checked all the fraternities, then went to Sigma Nu. Everyone at pit (our house) welcomed me with open arms, and took the time to get to know me. These were also one of the closest groups of guys I have ever seen; you could tell there weren’t any factions between them, with how they conversed with everyone. These guys were also one of the most diverse group of people I have ever met. The lovely ladies that hung around with them too were a plus. At this moment I was sold.

Now only after having my freshmen year completed and becoming active, I can already tell you this is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have matured a lot in only 30 weeks from where I was when I first came to college (In school and as a person). I have made the best friends here that feel more like family. They have gotten me through some pretty tough times and have always been there to help me with a helping hand in anything I need. I am excited to see what the future brings.

I am also the current rush chairman, so if you are planning on rushing you should defiantly take the time to talk to me. If you have any questions feel free to ask me, anything at all. You can email or call me. Also keep a look out for upcoming events in the fall for rush.
